MA Plumbing & Fuel Gas Tier 1

The Tier One Plumbing & Gas Fitting Program provides 110 hours of foundational education designed for individuals beginning their journey toward professional licensure in Massachusetts. Students are introduced to the history and importance of the plumbing trade, workplace safety, licensing requirements, plumbing codes, tools, materials, valves, joining methods, blueprint reading, and essential trade mathematics. Course topics include: • OSHA 10 construction safety training • Massachusetts licensing, education, and apprenticeship requirements • Copper, steel, cast iron, plastic, PEX, and other piping systems • Soldering, brazing, threading, pressing, flaring, and mechanical joining methods • Plumbing valves, devices, fixtures, and controls • Residential blueprint reading and construction drawings • Trade mathematics, measurements, fitting allowances, and pipe offsets • Key definitions from the Massachusetts Plumbing and Gas Codes This comprehensive first-tier program combines code-based instruction with practical trade knowledge, helping students build the skills, confidence, and professional foundation needed to advance through the Massachusetts Plumbing and Gas Fitting Tier Program.
